The Bombardier Museum in Valcourt is a recently-renovated museum tribute to Joseph-Armand Bombardier, the snowmobile pioneer who grew his company into a transportation giant. Visitors can also tour the Ski-Doo/Can-Am Spyder (a three-wheeled motorcycle) manufacturing plant while in Valcourt. The museum also serves as a focal point during the Grand Prix Ski-Doo weekend held in February, with oval racing and snowcross races.
The Granby Zoo was started by former mayor Horace Boivin. An animal lover since childhood, Boivin used his foreign travel to meet dignitaries who assisted his quest to build a zoo. Among them was former Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who gave Boivin an elephant to take home. The zoo welcomes some 700,000 visitors per year.
Le Festival international de la chanson de Granby is one of the world’s largest annual song competitions of its kind. It has been introducing future francophone stars to broader audiences since 1969.
