Festivals occur throughout the year, including the Yellowknife Summer Solstice Festival, Open Skies Festival, Great Northern Arts Festival, Inuvik Fall Fair, Festival of the Midnight Sun, K’Amba Winter Carnival, and the Polar Pond Hockey Tournament.
Grab a camera because the Northwest Territories is home to a number sights, from waterfalls (Virginia Falls, Lady Evelyn Falls, Alexandra Falls, and more), to the aurora borealis which cover the night sky from mid-August to September, and mid-November to mid-April, this riding is nothing short of beautiful.
The Mackenzie River is a great place to canoe or kayak. Many will paddle the four to six-week journey from Great Slave Lake to the Beaufort Sea.
