Since 1955, swimmers have competed in the annual 32-kilometre crossing of Lac Saint-Jean. The Traversée internationale du Lac Saint-Jean draws hundreds of competitors from around the world.
During winter months, the town of Roberval organizes an ice village with streets and houses on the frozen surface of Lac Saint-Jean. There are two ice rinks, a mini-golf course, a restaurant, and even a courier service.
The Blueberry Festival in Dolbeau-Mistassini runs during the first week of August and offers exhibits, an evening parade, live concerts, and the baking of a giant blueberry pie.
