Located in the southeast corner of B.C., the riding borders Alberta and three U.S. states (Washington, Idaho, and Montana).
The riding of Kootenay-Columbia is 64,336 km2 – a seven-hour drive from corner to corner.
The riding has the Purcell Mountains in the west, the Rocky Mountains in the east, and in the middle is the Southern Rock Mountain Trench, which encompasses the Columbia and Elk Valleys.
Cranbrook is B.C.’s sunniest city, getting approximately 2191 hours of sunlight annually.
Kootenay – Columbia encompasses four National Parks. These include Glacier National Park, Kootenay National Park, Yoho National Park, and Mount Revelstoke National Park.
