Stretching from Bicentennial Drive in the south to Pockwock Lake in the north, Harvest Highway in the east and Fishermen’s Memorial Highway in the west, this riding encompasses many communities, such as Bedford, Hammonds Plains, Upper Hammonds Plains, Beechville, Timberlea, Lakeside, Clayton Park and Fairview.
Unlike many Canadian cities, the urban core of Halifax is surrounded by forested and coastal landscapes. Halifax West includes two wilderness protected areas – Blue Mountain Birch Cove Lakes and Five Bridge Lakes.
