Port Burwell has a 2.5-km beach on Lake Erie with campgrounds, interpretive summer programs, and excellent bird-watching.
Check out the historic Elgin County Railway Museum in St. Thomas, the “Railway Capital of Canada.” Opened in 1988, the museum has an extensive collection railway artefact for visitors to peruse, including an electric interurban, a Pullman Sleeper car, and a Jordan Spreader.
Elgin county has four beaches – Port Stanley, Port Burwell, Port Bruce, and Port Glasgow – that are popular spots for sunbathing, swimming, boating, and fishing.
