The Fairmont Chateau Montebello, with its famous hexagonal log rotunda and six-sided stone fireplace rising 20 metres high, is a jewel of the riding. The resort spread over 64 000 acres began life as the Seigniory Club, where captains of industry and politics from Canada and the U.S. played golf and relaxed for 40 years. After its transformation into a hotel, it welcomed many prestigious events such a G7, NATO and Trilateral summits, and a meeting of the Bilderberg Group.
