Canada has three main levels of government: federal, provincial, and municipal.

Canada has three main levels of government: federal, provincial, and municipal.

The federal level of government deals with areas of law that affect the entire country. The provincial level of government deals with areas that affect  the entire province, such as education and health care. And finally, municipal governments are responsible for areas such as the libraries, parks and local police of a city, town or district (a municipality).
